Helical Anchors
At Anchor Systems (International) Ltd, we’re proud to be the original inventors of the Helical Anchor, holding the UK registered design for this innovative ground anchoring solution.
Our Helical Anchors provide a lightweight, practical alternative to lower-capacity Vulcan Earth Anchors — particularly on sites where access is limited, terrain is challenging, or the use of machinery is impractical. Installed by hand or with compact tools, they’re a fast, efficient, and low-impact anchoring method that delivers reliable performance without excavation or concrete.
Helical Anchors are ideal for temporary and permanent works, offering an immediate load-bearing solution that’s perfect for applications such as rope access safety points, small foundations, and lightweight structures.
Key Features & Benefits
Lightweight & Portable: Easily handled and installed without heavy equipment.
Hand or Machine Installable: Ideal for restricted-access or remote locations.
Durable & Reusable: High-strength steel design that can be removed and reused multiple times.
Instant Load Capacity: Ready to perform immediately after installation — no curing time required.
Minimal Ground Disturbance: No excavation or spoil removal needed, reducing site impact.
Customisable Options: Bespoke sizes and designs available to meet specific project requirements.
Low Environmental Impact: A sustainable alternative to concrete or driven piling systems.
Performance & Range
Our Helical Anchors are available in a range of five sizes, with lengths from 400mm to 2000mm and load capacities typically between 100kg and 2000kg. They can be installed vertically or at an angle to provide tension, compression, or lateral restraint depending on the application.
Typical uses include:
Rope access systems for safe descent and ascent on steep slopes
Tethering and security points for tools, equipment, or safety lines
Foundations for bridges, modular buildings, extensions, and conservatories
Underpinning and foundation repairs
Wind turbine and solar installations in remote or off-grid locations
Temporary and relocatable structures such as site cabins or staging
Domestic garden uses — including sheds, decking, greenhouses, and retaining walls
For bespoke or high-load applications, our engineers can design custom helical anchors tailored to the exact ground conditions and load requirements of your site.
