Tree Kits

Vulcan® Tree Kits provide a discreet, robust and reliable method of securing newly planted or established trees across landscaping, urban, horticultural and infrastructure environments. Designed to support healthy establishment while protecting the rootball from damage, each system offers a fast, cost-effective alternative to staking or timber supports. With options for underground fixing, above-ground guying and non-penetrative solutions, the range ensures that trees of all sizes—from small saplings to semi-mature specimens exceeding 12m—can be safely anchored in almost any ground condition.

Built around our proven Vulcan Earth Anchor technology, the systems deliver immediate holding capacity and long-term performance, supporting landscape schemes where safety, aesthetics and durability are critical.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Made in Britain for quality assurance and reduced lead times.

  • High-grade steel components offer superior strength and longevity.

  • Larger anchor surface area provides improved load capacity, especially in poor or variable soils.

  • Full range of system types including wired kits, strap kits, Dead Man kits, Drop-Man® kits and overhead guying.

  • Suitable for trees under 2m to over 12m, with five anchor sizes available.

  • Fast, simple installation, with hand-held or machine-driven anchor options.

  • Rootball-protective designs ensure safe load transfer without damaging root structures.

  • Aesthetically discreet – nothing visible above ground once installed.

  • Durability up to 120+ years, depending on specification and ground conditions.

  • Training and on-site support available to ensure safe and correct installation

Key Features & Benefits

Design Considerations

Each system is designed to protect the tree while providing consistent long-term anchoring:

  • Rootball protectors distribute load evenly and prevent abrasion.

  • High-tensile wire or webbed strapping ensures secure fastening without constricting growth.

  • Engineered components like Drop-Man® plates and expanding eyebolts expand the system’s flexibility across ground types and planter applications.

  • Universal tools and simple assembly make the systems accessible for contractors of all skill levels.

Installation & Usability

Installation is intentionally straightforward:

  • Drive or place anchors/plates using handheld tools, petrol post drivers or non-penetrative methods.

  • Remove drive rods once the anchor reaches the required depth.

  • Load the anchors using hooks or jacks (depending on size).

  • Secure the rootball using wire or strap systems and tension via ratchet.

  • Final adjustments ensure the tree is upright, stable and protected.

Anchor Systems also supplies a full range of installation and tensioning tools, including Hand Drive Rods, Power Drive Rods, Loading Hooks/Jacks, and the Trundle Pack, all designed for efficiency on site.

Rootball Fixing Kits (1).png

Rootball Fixing Kit

The Rootball Fixing Kit provides a secure, underground anchoring solution for newly planted rootballed trees, removing the need for unsightly above-ground supports. Designed to give trees the best possible start, the system delivers long-term stability while maintaining a clean, aesthetically pleasing finish.

Available with either high tensile wire or webbing strap options, the kits ensure precise positioning and controlled tensioning during installation. Integrated rootball protection spreads the load evenly, preventing damage to the root structure while promoting healthy establishment.

Suitable for a wide range of tree sizes, from light standards to semi-mature specimens, the Rootball Fixing Kit offers a simple, reliable and professional solution for landscaping and planting projects.

Dead Man Kits.png

Dead Man Kits

Dead Man Kits are designed for situations where traditional driven anchors cannot be used, such as urban environments with buried utilities or non-displaceable ground conditions.

Using either high tensile wire or webbing straps, the system secures the tree by connecting to weighted objects such as sleepers or kerbstones beneath the surface. This method provides effective load distribution and stability while protecting the rootball from damage.

Simple to install and widely used across rail, utilities and landscaping projects, Dead Man Kits offer a practical and proven alternative where ground penetration is not possible.

DropMan Kit.png

Drop Man Kits

The Drop Man Kit is an innovative evolution of the traditional deadman system, designed to simplify installation and reduce the need for additional materials.

Instead of relying on external weights such as kerbstones or sleepers, the system uses purpose-designed Drop Man plates to provide the necessary resistance and load distribution. This all-in-one solution improves efficiency on site while maintaining excellent tree stability.

Available with wire or strap configurations, the Drop Man Kit offers a faster, more cost-effective and streamlined approach to securing trees in challenging ground conditions.

Containerised Rootball Kits.png

Containerised Rootball Kits

The Containerised Rootball Kit is specifically developed for securing trees within planters and containers, making it ideal for roof gardens, urban spaces and hard landscaping schemes.

Replacing traditional ground anchors, the system uses expanding eye bolts fixed into the structure of the container to provide a discreet yet highly effective anchoring solution. This allows trees to be securely installed above ground without compromising design or aesthetics.

Offering flexibility, security and ease of installation, the Containerised Rootball Kit is the preferred choice for modern planting environments where traditional anchoring methods are not suitable.

Overhead Guying Kits.png

Overhead Guying Kits

Overhead Guying Systems are designed to support newly planted trees in exposed or high-wind environments where additional stabilisation is required.

Using high tensile guy wires connected to Vulcan Earth Anchors, the system provides above-ground support to prevent movement, leaning or displacement during establishment. Adjustable tensioning ensures the tree remains securely positioned while allowing natural movement for healthy growth.

Quick to install and adaptable to a variety of ground conditions, overhead guying offers a reliable solution for protecting trees in more demanding environments.
